I really appreciate you taking the time to contribute your opinion on this matter – it will be invaluable for establishing where the greatest issues are across Argyll & Bute, identifying what the biggest shortcomings of our current governments are, both at local level and Scotland-wide, and what will need the most urgent focus for me, should the people of Argyll & Bute choose to trust me as their next MSP.

I strongly feel that the SNP have had their chance at government in Scotland over the past 18 years and have well and truly run out of steam – there’s nothing more that they can offer the Scottish people but empty promises and more massive, costly failures, wasting your taxes. Don’t give them a free pass to continue allowing Scotland to decline.

The Tories are in ruins, as they deserve to be after nearly 15 years of inflicting huge damage on the UK and our family of nations. The Lib Dems and Reform are irrelevant fringe parties that will never be capable of governing – wasting your vote on them would be a huge mistake and would simply be giving the SNP a false victory.

Just like Labour created the NHS, we also created the Scottish Parliament and our country’s devolved government, and ran it professionally and successfully in its early years. We are fully prepared to take back control and immediately launch a programme of renewal for Scotland that will wipe away the years of SNP failure. If elected, I will be visible and accessible in our communities, and I will ensure Argyll & Bute and its people are at the forefront of this wave of positive change, ending the stagnation at the hands of the SNP and building a Scotland we can all be proud of.
